A New year of #creativedaily

2014 flew by quickly for me, it is hard to believe we are in a new year! I have already messed up writing the date on things a few times. But one thing I am so grateful for, is that I participated in #CreativeDaily so that I can reflect on 2014 in photos. There were some good memories and prompts that had fit them.

If you want to join in the photo fun challenge for 2015, you can start at any time - no push no shove - it is for fun. Here are the prompts for January, and you can always learn more about #creativedaily at DaftCrafts.net and Lu & Ed.

I hope to see your photos to track your new year in photos too!

B is for BEAR!

The alphabet...oh my...the alphabet. Twenty-six letters to form all communication. Little Miss is on the road of learning it and I am on the road of learning how to teach it. I have a new respect for teachers. I have always respected those in the profession, but now hold them in even higher respect. Teaching is not easy.

We have already worked with the letter A but I failed to take any photos while we practiced it. I, generally, fail at snagging photos while I am focused on my children. But 'B', I was more on top of things. But will admit, not a single one was edited for this post. First step for me was Googling pages for tracing the letter B. I found these two printables in the images that fit with what I wanted to teach. Little Miss did a great job completing them.
After we traced and wrote words on our dry ease board we headed into crafting. My daughter's favorite part of learning. I had no real plan or idea what we should make. The krafty part of my brain started spinning. I pulled out brown paper, pink paper, glue, safety scissors, google eyes, and a black small pom-pom. I thought about the parts of a bear and cut out crude shapes for those parts.

These really are only a fast attempt at crafting a bear. You can switch any of the colors to suit your own little crafter. Little Miss likes pink and brown. In the above picture, the parts are not glued down yet, I wanted to make sure I made them small enough to fit on the paper. I handed the glue stick over and watched the little creative mind work.
She was so happy to have the control of the glue and of the project. I did not tell her where the parts went, just what part of the bear they were. When she finished with the bear, she decided, "girly bear's have bows." I cut out a quick pink bow to make the girl bear complete.
The moment it was finished, we used "sticky tape" to hang it up on the wall by the dinner table. She loves to see it hung there and was so happy to show Daddy at dinner time.
It is not much, but it was enough for her. Please, feel free to use this idea when teaching the Letter B to a child. The BEAR craft, krafted me through a moment of life's kraziness.

Book, Creative Process, Sunshine, and Random - #creativedaily catch up

I love these prompts for #creativedaily. I need to start setting an alarm or something to remind me to take the photos.

Day 25 - Book

These are three inspiring books that I am currently 'reading' - gleaning inspiration from! There are so many cute creative ideas in them!!

Day 26 - Creative Process

This is a dino hat in process...it is unsure how it is going to look finished but I am still working on it. it has been a fun hat to design/make.

Day 27 - Sunshine

These clouds were so pretty as they shifted over head. And the sun peeked out between them.

Day 28 - Random

Here is Little Miss this morning with her new Pink lion am working on. She asked for a pink lion yesterday after nap. I quote "I need Pink Princess lion to protect my Penlowope babies." So, I started making her a lion. Today, I plan on adding her face and mane so she'll be able to 'protect' the 'Penlowope' babies. And you know, if she asks for a new animal...I do my best to get it made for her. She is the reason I make the animals in the first place.

Favorite tool - photo prompt

I decided to join in on this new photo a day challenge that is being hosted by Lu & Ed!! You can join in the fun any time. I really love how this stretches my creative juices!! Read more about it HERE on her blog!

Today's #creativedaily photo prompt is 'favorite tool' - Here is my favorite tool - my Sony a100. I tell you I really debated on this prompt. I have so many amazing things - tools- I use everyday that are really helpful to making my life better - aka: dishwasher, scissors, computer, phone, T.V., hooks, thread & needle, etc. But my camera...captures more then just my sock creations.

It captures moments of 'life' that is zipping past so fast that I do not want to forget. My toddlers are growing up so fast!!! It is so hard to believe Little Miss is going to be four and Little Monster will be two! I am so thankful I have been able to snap still shots of them. Do you have a photo you are so glad you were able to capture? What is it of?? Would you please share??

A Family and Hair bow

Happy Day to you!!! I'd like to share with you some EPIC gifts I have ordered this past Cyber Monday.

A family. Landon's Toy Box makes the most adorable Peg People!! I was able buy two exclusive 2013 elves and this small Nativity play set. I am super impressed with all of them! And both of my children enjoy them. I can see more peg people in my families future.

A Hair bow. Violet's Buds makes the most adorable hair accessories. And this bow matches the dress I am currently sewing for my daughter. I am so pleased with the quality and care that is obvious. She really makes wearing a flower in your hair wonderful!!

If you are looking for a family or a bow - these are the two places to go to. Both have great customer service and fast service! Very personable!
