Team work Lu & Ed style

My dear crafty friend, Cody, of Lu & Ed gets faced with requests that she herself cannot make. It is a hard thing to tell one of you awesome fans I can not make what you are seek after. I will continue to do my best to refer you to whom I know to fill your needs. But Cody...well she came up with a most genius idea and it helps out a GREAT local cause. Welcome Cody.

Thank you Kelly. And as you said, I love it when customers ask for new products, but sometimes I can't always fill those requests.

Enter Team Lu & Ed.

I keep a list of customer suggestions. One day I was looking at that list and decided I need to do something about it - so I started reaching out to other artists who I admire for their talent and positive personalities to collaborate with to fulfill those suggestions!

Collaborating is such a wonderful experience. I love working with other artists to make unique, limited edition products and I hope that you enjoy seeing what we scheme up together! Together, me and the artists I am teaming up with are changing the world - proceeds from each Team Lu & Ed product are donated to charity!

Team Lu & Ed proudly supports Drumm Farm Center for Children, with as much as 100% from Team Lu & Ed products going directly to the group home environment for children in the Missouri foster care system in Kansas City, where I call home. ♥ The other percentage of funds from items goes directly back to the artist I collaborated with. I don't keep a penny of the money from Team Lu & Ed, I invest it all back into the local community and helping make the lives of children in the foster care system more happy and wonderful!

Here is a run down on currently active collaborations & products you can find in my shop

Cari from TheMollieShop.com makes incredible fur haired fabric dolls & perfectly pleasant handmade fabric fabric hair bows! I was thrilled when she designed two types of bows - a ribbon/bottlecap bow and a fabric bow - to represent Team Lu & Ed! Cari graciously donates 100% of the proceeds from these bows to charity through Team Lu & Ed!

This winter Cari & I launched ten fabric, fur hair Mollie Dollies made in Team Lu & Ed colors -  with 50% going to Team Lu & Ed! The dolls flew off the shelves and there are just a few left!

Danielle of Squshies makes colorful mini felt characters that can be used as ornaments or soft wall art for kids, and I was stoked when she agreed to work with me to create ten limited edition mini wall art Mon-stors! They were a huge hit, almost totally selling out before the holidays and now there is only a couple left available on clearance in my shop! Scoop one up - $7 from the purchase price goes to charity through Team Lu & Ed!
Kelly of Kiser Krafts is a multi-medium artist who creates sock animals and crochet wear. She has designed an adorable crochet Gabos Mon-stor hat! There will only ten of these limited edition Mon-stor hats available, each one made to order, with 50% from the sales price donated to charity through Team Lu & Ed -  and there's only four left! EEK! Scoop yours up now to keep your noggin warm!

Holly of Landon's Toy Box is a wood artist who makes ecofriendly hand painted wooden peg people action figures for kids to play with! She made ten limited edition Gabos Peggies and is donating 50% to charity through Team Lu & Ed!

Brittany of Little Green Guy is a multi-media artist who works in water color, sculpting and plush making to create adorable little monster art pieces! She took the concept of my branding and created a unique water color painting which we are offering limited edition prints of that are on sale for $8 off! Perfect decor for a nursery or play room! 20% of the purchase price is donated to charity through Team Lu & Ed!

With Doll my Heart

For the month of February, Ashley from Penelope's Eclectic Closet has a wonderful line of limited edition dolls available which will benefit charity. She's here as a guest to tell you all about it! Welcome Ashley!

When Stella was born, she had a small hole in her heart. The tiniest imperfection in an otherwise perfect newborn. We feel so fortunate! Her issue was minor. Just a tiny heart murmur needing a couple cardiologist appointments (At Primary Children’s hospital) during the first year of her life to monitor it. In Nov 2013 we got awesome news that her hole had closed and she was good as new! This isn’t even something that would affect her during the rest of her life. We’re so lucky and so grateful for the health of our kids!

February is National Heart Month, and Penelope’s Eclectic Closet will be celebrating by offering one limited-edition doll every day for the 28 days in February. These Heart dolls have the same charm as Penelope’s Eco Friendlies (dolls made from scraps of Penelope Original Dresses to keep extra bits and pieces out of landfills) but have a sweet little heart sewn to their chest! I'll be donating 20% of the proceeds from sales of these dolls to the wonderful folks at Primary Children's Hospital!

You can find Penelope's Eclectic Closet on Storenvy, Facebook, Twitter & Instagram, or contact via email.

If you are interested in donating directly to Primary Children's Hospital, read more about it here.

Thank you so much Ashley for sharing your 'heart' and the way you are helping out others with us! What a wonderful gift!

Little House of Crafting helps NaNoWriMo

November is just a day away!! Did you know that November is National Novel Writing month? I didn't until I met Toni of Little House of Crafting. She is an avid reader, writer and supporter of writing for all ages. She is setting forth to help others know more about writing. I hand over my blog for her to tell you a little bit more! Welcome Toni!!

November is National Novel Writing Month!

Little House of Crafting is celebrating National Novel Writing Month, also known as NaNoWriMo, by helping to raise money for The Offices of Letters and Light. The Offices of Letters and Light organizes events where children and adults engage in  the creative endeavor of creative writing. Events consist of NaNoWriMo, NaNoWriMo Young Writer's Program and Camp NaNoWriMo, during which NaNoWriMo can be completed in the summer months as well.

The NaNoWriMo challenge is to write 50,000 words in the 30 days of the month the member is participating in. That averages out to about 1,667 words per day. The writer is not alone in this challenge! Once signed up with a free username and password, NaNoWriMo members can customize their profile page, upload a novel cover, post an excerpt from their novel and much more! NaNoWriMo has a fantastic forum where members can join a regional forum with other writers in their community to attend a kick-off party, attend write-ins and attend the Thank God It's Over (TGIO) party at the end of the month. NaNoWriMo also enables you to have writing buddies so you can keep track of how your new friends are doing on their novels. You can read more about NaNoWriMo, or make a direct donation to NaNoWriMo here.

Little House of Crafting's Keep Calm and Write On pinback button was created to encourage the continuation of writing as a whole and in honor of NaNoWriMo. 50% of the sale price of this clip will be donated to The Offices of Letters and Light on December 1st in Little House of Crafting's name. The design is also available in magnet form for no additional charge!

The Keep Calm and Write On pinback button is professionally printed and made in the Little House of Crafting studio in Southeastern Michigan. The pinback buttons have already been made and will typically ship the next day! Creation of the magnets will take 1 business day prior to shipping.

This pinback button is great to wear on a lanyard, purse, bag or shirt. The magnets are secured by hand to the back of the button after the pin has been removed. The magnets are very strong and can hold up to 8 pieces of paper. You can purchase the clip in Keep Calm and Write On pinback button in Little House of Crafting's Storenvy shop.

Toni Conn, the owner of Little House of Crafting, will be participating in NaNoWriMo this year, as she has continually since 2007. Find out more about her novel and her progress here.

There is still time to help out Little House of Crafting with her cause to help out The Offices of Letters and Light -  stop by and purchase the pinback button or the magnet to help fund the month of literary abandon! Thanks!
