Little House of Crafting helps NaNoWriMo

November is just a day away!! Did you know that November is National Novel Writing month? I didn't until I met Toni of Little House of Crafting. She is an avid reader, writer and supporter of writing for all ages. She is setting forth to help others know more about writing. I hand over my blog for her to tell you a little bit more! Welcome Toni!!

November is National Novel Writing Month!

Little House of Crafting is celebrating National Novel Writing Month, also known as NaNoWriMo, by helping to raise money for The Offices of Letters and Light. The Offices of Letters and Light organizes events where children and adults engage in  the creative endeavor of creative writing. Events consist of NaNoWriMo, NaNoWriMo Young Writer's Program and Camp NaNoWriMo, during which NaNoWriMo can be completed in the summer months as well.

The NaNoWriMo challenge is to write 50,000 words in the 30 days of the month the member is participating in. That averages out to about 1,667 words per day. The writer is not alone in this challenge! Once signed up with a free username and password, NaNoWriMo members can customize their profile page, upload a novel cover, post an excerpt from their novel and much more! NaNoWriMo has a fantastic forum where members can join a regional forum with other writers in their community to attend a kick-off party, attend write-ins and attend the Thank God It's Over (TGIO) party at the end of the month. NaNoWriMo also enables you to have writing buddies so you can keep track of how your new friends are doing on their novels. You can read more about NaNoWriMo, or make a direct donation to NaNoWriMo here.

Little House of Crafting's Keep Calm and Write On pinback button was created to encourage the continuation of writing as a whole and in honor of NaNoWriMo. 50% of the sale price of this clip will be donated to The Offices of Letters and Light on December 1st in Little House of Crafting's name. The design is also available in magnet form for no additional charge!

The Keep Calm and Write On pinback button is professionally printed and made in the Little House of Crafting studio in Southeastern Michigan. The pinback buttons have already been made and will typically ship the next day! Creation of the magnets will take 1 business day prior to shipping.

This pinback button is great to wear on a lanyard, purse, bag or shirt. The magnets are secured by hand to the back of the button after the pin has been removed. The magnets are very strong and can hold up to 8 pieces of paper. You can purchase the clip in Keep Calm and Write On pinback button in Little House of Crafting's Storenvy shop.

Toni Conn, the owner of Little House of Crafting, will be participating in NaNoWriMo this year, as she has continually since 2007. Find out more about her novel and her progress here.

There is still time to help out Little House of Crafting with her cause to help out The Offices of Letters and Light -  stop by and purchase the pinback button or the magnet to help fund the month of literary abandon! Thanks!

'Wet' - that it is...

Today's #FMSPhotoaDay prompt is 'wet' and I tell you that was perfect for today. It started out raining...and rained through out the whole day to even right this moment.

Dot Bunny kept looking out the porch door to see if he could go out to play or not. The moment I caught it had just begun to pour again. Poor Dot...he was stuck inside all day.

And I have failed to share the last couple of photos for #FMSPhotoaDay. So the following is the ones I missed sharing.

10/29 - 'hair'

A lion's mane to be the photo I am sharing is the lion waiting for her mane to sewn on...all her hair is in the background in a huge pile. It takes a fair amount of 'hair' to make a Penny's Pet lion mane.

10/28 - 'Just for you'

SO this one is 'Just for YOU' Kiser Krafts fans!! Here is Birthday Ryan Lion. Kiser Krafts will be turning 1 on November 5th. I made this #socklion to giveaway to celebrate Kiser Krafts' birthday! So this is just a 'sneak-peak' ready to see him fully closer to the birthday.

10/27 - 'Peaceful'

I took this picture last week of my son taking his nap and it was a peaceful time. Did you know naps are best when they are not in your own bed? Yeah, I didn't either. He is such a sweetie. I moved him after I took the picture.

 10/26 - 'Depth of Field'

I was busy working on a tailor job for a Halloween Hunter Caplet. And Hester was watching my every move. I was able to catch this picture of him while at my sewing machine. I'm so thankful for his help.

So now we are all caught up!! What do you think about my pictures?? ☺

Violet's Buds - seeks to help SPD Foundation

October is National Sensory Awareness Month!
Violet's Buds is celebrating National Sensory Awareness month by helping to raise money for the SPD Foundation. The SPD Foundation is the world leader in research, education, and awareness for Sensory Processing Disorder, a neurological condition that disrupts the daily lives of more than 4 million Americans. The SPD Foundation provides hope and help to individuals and families living with SPD.
Violet's Buds Sensational Bug Celebration clip was created to honor The Knotty Boutique Co's son Bug, who has Sensory Processing Disorder. 50% of the sale of this clip will be donated to SPD Foundation on Nov 1 in Bug's name.  Now 100% of the sale of the clip will be donated to SPD Foundation on Dec 1! You can read more about Bug's story, or make direct donations here.
Sensational Bug Celebration is a dahlia style flower with a blue puzzle piece center, using lime fabric with blue ladybug print. Each clip is made to order, and no puzzle piece centers will be exactly the same. Creation of the clip will take 2 business days prior to shipping.
This hair accessory is secured to an alligator clip for easy wear in the hair, or clipped to a purse or lapel. Headbands can be added upon request. You can purchase the Sensational Bug Celebration clip in Violet's Buds Storenvy shop.
The Knotty Boutique Co. had a wonderful Bug's Sensation Celebration Auction Oct 19-20. All of the proceeds from the auction have been donated to SPD Foundation. Read more about Bug & the fundraiser here:

There is still time to help out Violet's Buds with her cause to help out Bug's Sensation Celebration -  head over and purchase a hair clip to help find a cure for this disease. Thanks!
